The Sound of Ubuntu: June 19, 2022

The African theology of Ubuntu teaches, “I am because we are.” Similarly, Reformed worship begins and ends with the community praising God and praying together. This Sunday, for the first time, Calvary explores Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached the last enslaved African-Americans, echoing the promise of Galatians 3:29: “There is no longer slave or free…for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” For all our blessings, let’s praise God together.
