The Debian Project has officially announced the release of its newest stable release, Debian 10.10 Buster. Check out the news and find out where to download the distro.

The Debian Project is an association of individuals who have created common cause to create a free operating system. This operating system is called Debian.

Currently, Debian systems use the Linux kernel. Linux is completely free software started by Linus Torvalds and supported by thousands of programmers around the world.

Of course, what people want is application software: programs to help them get what they want to do, from editing documents, running a business, running games, to creating more software.

Debian comes with over 50,000 packages (pre-compiled software that is packaged in a nice format for easy installation on your machine) – all of it free.

It’s a bit like a tower. At the base is the kernel. In addition are all the basic tools. Next is all the software you run on your computer.

At the top of the tower is Debian – carefully organizing and tweaking everything so that everything works together.

Now, the Debian Project has announced Debian 10.10 as the tenth maintenance update and the ISO release of the latest stable series of Debian 10 “Buster” operating systems.
