In this Shared Hosting vs VPS Hosting video, I talk about the differences between Shared Hosting and VPN Hosting which will help you understand which type of hosting could be the best choice for you and your situation.

Hey, how’s it going, everybody welcome back. Today, I’m going to be getting into the differences between shared web hosting and VPS hosting, so that you know how well to approach this if you’re new to hosting whether you want to go with shared web hosting just regular shared web hosting, or VPS, hosting. And of course, I’m going to be recommending my three favorites here Bluehost, Hostgator, and hosting your.
Shared hosting is absolutely fine for small sites without large volumes of visitors, but be wary of how a sudden increase in a site’s popularity will impact performance. Now in terms of configuration, and customization. VPS hosting will of course, be shared hosting for customization, especially since most people will opt for a managed plan. You don’t need to worry about setting anything up and it’s so much more flexible. So with VPS hosting you decide your own limit needs, whereas with shared web hosting, it’s far more regimented. Now, when it comes to scalability, VPS hosting wins again. Like I said, shared hosting has its perks. And for personal sites or small startups, it fits the bill. But if you want to scale without the worry of your website crashing VPS hosting is the one for you for sure. Now with regards to pricing, of course, shared web hosting is going to be cheaper, significantly cheaper, actually. And if you want to host your website on the cheap Well, there’s no real argument as shared hosting is undeniably cheaper than VPS hosting. As you can tell here. It’s still important to note though, that shared hosting is a little limited for sites with big ambitions. Now, you can always upgrade from a shared web hosting plan to a VPS hosting plan. And if you’re looking for, let’s say slightly cheaper VPS hosting plans, you can definitely find those with Hostgator. Bluehost is a little bit more limited with regards to the plans they have, they just have three plans, whereas hosting or has a lot of plans and you can get a cheap VPS plan. But of course, keep in mind that you’re going to have little resources and HostGator is the same as a Bluehost. Here, you’re going to just be stuck with these three and with Hostgator. It’s similar to Bluehost. You are stuck with these three plans, whereas hosting or does give you a little bit more of an option. But you just have to know the resources. So make sure that you talk to the web hosting providers support so that They can give you advice on what could be best for your particular website. Now, if you’re just starting out and you want to start a website and kind of get it going and you’re not expecting a lot of traffic, at least in the beginning, a shared web hosting plan will be just fine. However, if you are expecting a little bit of traffic, especially if you have a lot of personal or sensitive information, maybe some confidential information that you’re collecting from your clients, and I definitely recommend a more secure plan such as VPS. So, you know, it’s really up to you at the end of the day, depending on what you need.
